James Kennel, Events Strategy Launch

A new borough-wide events strategy for planning and coordinating tourism events has been developed for Visit Greenwich and the Royal Borough of Greenwich by the University of Greenwich. This pan-borough strategy aims to establish the Royal Borough of Greenwich and surrounding area as an eventful destination with a wide-ranging and co-ordinated events offer.

The new events strategy for Greenwich was launched on Wednesday 25 April at Hamilton House to more than 80 Visit Greenwich partners and events organisers.

Royal Borough of Greenwich Events: A Destination-First Strategy
A report prepared for Visit Greenwich by James Kennell and Pamela Zigomo, Faculty of Business, University of Greenwich

This report proposes the development of a strategic approach to the creation, programming and promotion of events in Greenwich, under the brand ‘Royal Borough of Greenwich Events’. The report identifies clear opportunities for Visit Greenwich to take a more strategic approach to events within the tourist and visitor offer of the destination. With its partners, Visit Greenwich should aim to use events to enhance the positive impacts of tourism and visitation in Greenwich.
