Windrush Christmas Living Room

About

Step into a festive slice of history this holiday season

Celebrate the holidays Windrush-style with our special Christmas edition of the beloved Windrush Front Room. Step into a 1940s/50s Caribbean-British living room, lovingly decorated for Christmas, and experience how the Windrush Generation brought warmth, music, and tradition to their new homes in the UK.

Smell the spice, hear the music, feel the joy

This interactive exhibition brings the Windrush era to life with original furniture, vintage decorations, music, clothing, and festive treats. You'll be able to handle real objects from the time and learn about the brave young people who made the journey from the Caribbean to the UK in 1948.

✨ More than an exhibition – it's a celebration- this unique holiday experience invites families and communities of all ages to gather, learn, and celebrate the enduring spirit of the Windrush Generation.

Free admission during our normal cafe opening hours.
