Unpacking London's café culture with Jonathan Nunn and Isaac Rangaswami

About

Join two of London's foremost food writers and culinary cartographers in a celebration of tea.

As one of the world's most ubiquitously consumed goods, tea tells a story of globalisation and colonialism, and has served as the fuel for centuries of political discourse. But it is also an enduring symbol of hospitality and welcome, both a luxury good and one of the most accessible drinks. Through tea we can track the social history of the city.

In an evening conversation hosted at the world's most famous tea clipper, Jonathan Nunn and Isaac Rangaswami dive into tea, charting changes in the cafe culture of contemporary London, and what these reveal about the evolving spatial politics of the city.

Benugo will be open from 6pm until 9pm with soft and alcoholic drinks, and of course, teas, available to purchase throughout the evening.

About the Speakers
