Live illustrations of some of the most beautiful music ever written, guided by well-known composer, singer and educator Peter Gritton

About

Come and listen to live illustrations of some of the most beautiful music ever written, guided by well-known composer, singer and educator Peter Gritton.

Thomas Tallis was the most important composer in 16th century England by virtue of having served four monarchs - Henry VIII, Edward VI, Mary I and Elizabeth I.  The drastic political and religious turbulence of this era, beset with danger and spies, is illustrated perfectly by the music of Tallis, who lived a few yards from St Alfege Church where indeed his body lies.

This series of talks and other events has been made possible thanks to funding by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
