The first of three 2025 jazz concerts celebrating UK jazz legends with deep ties to Blackheath Halls first up is Ronnie Scott, who frequently performed in the Great Hall alongside George Melly and Humphrey Lyttleton.

Direct from London's world-famous jazz club, the Ronnie Scott's All Stars featuring guest vocalist Jo Harrop come to Blackheath with a brand new programme of music celebrating 'The Ronnie Scott's Story'.

This show chronicles the 60+ year history of Ronnie Scott's legendary club through live jazz, narration, rare photos and video footage. Experience classic music from jazz greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Nina Simone, and Buddy Rich, plus original compositions by Ronnie Scott himself.

Beyond the music, discover tales of old Soho featuring colourful anecdotes about wayward musicians, film stars, celebrity visitors, gangs, and police raids, a unique tribute to one of the world's most famous jazz venues.

Ronnie Scott's All Stars, the club's house band since 2007, regularly tour the UK with their theatre shows and perform internationally at festivals and pop-up venues. They've backed stars including Rick Astley, Curtis Stigers, Gabrielle, Lisa Stansfield, and Clare Martin.

Award-winning jazz vocalist Jo Harrop gained recognition when Iggy Pop played her music on BBC Radio 6, calling her "a very fine jazz singer" after reading a 4-star Guardian review. She was selected to support Gregory Porter's 13 date UK tour in 2025, including four nights at London's Royal Albert Hall.

Jo has performed at prestigious venues worldwide including Royal Albert Hall, Dizzy's at Lincoln Center NYC, SF Jazz Club, Ronnie Scott's, Birmingham Symphony Hall, and major jazz festivals across the UK, US, and Denmark.

Jo's intimate, smoky voice blends jazz, blues, soul, Americana, folk, and Latin influences with what critics describe as the ability to "melt even the chilliest of hearts."
