This October half term, the Queen's House will be centred around the theme of 'creepy crawlies'.
Programme:
Character Encounters (25th October and 1st November)
Meet historical characters connected to the Queen's House and take part in exciting performances that bring the past to life.
Craft Workshop: Crimson Marvels (28th October)
Inspired by the magnificent Battle of Solebay Tapestry, discover how artists once used pigments made from insects to create rich crimson and carmine threads.
Then help make a collaborative tapestry artwork or create your own colourful design using shades inspired by history.

Craft Workshop: Silk Moth Magic (29th October)
This family-friendly paper moth and butterfly workshop draws inspiration from the remarkable journey of silk and the creatures that make it possible.
Through creative making, explore the story of the Bombyx mori moth, the origins of silk production in China, and the maritime trade routes that connected communities across continents.

Craft Workshop: Spectacular Spider Badges (30th October)
Spiders can be spectacular! Take inspiration from a remarkable spider hidden in the museum’s collection and design your own gleaming badge or medallion using metallic papers and eye-catching colours.
