Discover stories of children from the borough who became evacuees, made a long journey alone to the safety of the country

About

During the Second World War, many children living in big cities and towns around the United Kingdom made a long journey alone from their families and homes, to the safety of the country. This week, we’ll discover stories of children from the borough who became evacuees, make our own identity tags, and craft airplane models inspired by those piloted by fathers and older brothers during the war.

Charlton House Explorers run every Tuesday of the school summer holidays. Anytime between 10:00am - 12 noon each Tuesday morning, your children aged 5-12 can drop in to Charlton House for crafts, storytelling, games, and more fun based on Royal Greenwich’s history. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the sessions.
