Explore the stories, symbolism, and skill represented within the Painted Hall and adjoining Nelson Room

About

This British Sign Language talk will explore the stories, symbolism, and skill represented within the Painted Hall and adjoining Nelson Room, the room where Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson’s body lay in state after his death.

The tour features the art and architecture for which the Painted Hall is famous and delves into the narratives depicted on its massive painted ceiling and walls. Next is the Nelson Room, where you can delve into some British history and pose questions to your knowledgeable guide.

Whether you’ve visited the Old Royal Naval College before or have yet to discover this amazing site, there are plentiful layers of history, artistry, and lore to examine and enjoy.

NOTE: The content of this tour will be entirely delivered in British Sign Language by expert BSL tour guide Alan Murray. The tour will not be interpreted into spoken English.
