The monthly stand up comedy show returns with headliner Shazia Mirza

About

The monthly stand up comedy show continues with headliner Shazia Mirza.
After a summer break, the popular monthly comedy night returns with a bang this month! Darker, more outrageous, and achingly funny than ever, Woolwich Works launches the autumn season of Big Bill’s with comedy star Shazia Mirza headlining.

Shazia is an award-winning British comedian, writer and broadcaster with a truly global following, known for her fearless, razor-sharp stand-up. Blending social commentary, cultural insight and self-deprecating wit, she has become one of the UK’s most distinctive comedy voices, appearing on shows including QIHave I Got News for You and The Jonathan Ross Show.

Her acclaimed shows include "The Kardashians Made Me Do It," "With Love From St. Tropez," and "Coconut," nominated for Channel 4's National Comedy Awards. On-screen, she’s appeared on "Celebrity MasterChef" in 2023 and "QI," and she’s penned columns for The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph.

The Scotsman described her as "Fearless, brutal and beautiful" and The Guardian has described her as "Wonderfully life-enhancingly funny".

Other names to be announced for this monthly night of bold, boundary-pushing and boisterous stand-up, hosted by Bilal Rashid, one of London’s most exciting new comics. Applauded for his razor-sharp punchlines, fearless satire, and unpredictable energy, Bilal is fast becoming one of the UK’s hottest rising stars. Catch him here before you see him on your TV screens.
