About
Join the Firepit Art Gallery for a magical storytelling workshop, introducing Efua's Magic Stew - a modern fairy tale with a unique cultural twist.
Like many young children, Efua struggles with mealtimes. They feel like a pointless interruption to her important world of play and make believe…..until one evening when she sits down to dinner and finds a whole new world awaits her. Suddenly, she’s on an important quest in a mysterious land full of magical symbols, mythical creatures and more.
Find out the true history behind the little-known ancient symbols which guide the children on their way. Explore the themes behind the book. Create your own words and pictures to shape your own unique Efua tale.
Follow Efua on her journey through a world of mythical creatures, ancient magic, and Ghanaian symbols as she discovers courage, friendship and self-belief.
At the workshop, adults and children can:
- Meet author Angela Ackah-McIntyre and find out more about the themes which inspired the book
- Learn about Ghana's iconic Adinkra symbols
- Join a fun family quiz
- Create their own magical worlds through writing and art
- Enjoy a live reading and exclusive book signing.
A fun-filled, creative workshop ideal for both adults, and children aged 6-11.
