Christmas Lights around the Royal Borough of Greenwich

Join us on Wednesday 19 November at 4pm for Greenwich’s Lantern Parade when schoolchildren carry handmade lanterns through the streets, creating an evening of sparkle and joy. Eltham is hosting a festive art trail, community crafts and a drumming workshop on Saturday 22 November from 11am to 6pm. Over in Woolwich a magical light installation is the centrepiece on Saturday 29 November, with workshops, singalongs and market stalls.

Festive Fun at Eltham Palace

Head to Eltham Palace and see how the palace comes alive with the sights, sounds, and scents of the season. Wander through beautifully decorated rooms, where warm garlands, candlelight, and carols evoke the charm of both Tudor royalty and Art Deco glamour. You can also meet Father Christmas during the Festive Fun weekends. 

Greenwich Market Lantern Parade and Light Switch-On

Join the Greenwich community as it comes together for the Greenwich Market’s annual Lantern Parade and Light Switch-On taking place on Wednesday 20 November. Carol singing begins from 2pm, the Lantern Parade runs from 4pm with local school children proudly showing off their works, with the countdown to the Christmas lights switch-on beginning just before 5pm. Have your cameras ready.
