You are here: What's On > Christmas in Greenwich > A Taste of Christmas
From a casual coffee with a Christmas twist to traditional pub grub and sophisticated dining, Greenwich has a broad range of highly-rated places to eat and drink. As the festive season begins, keep an eye out for changes to typical menus, more tasty delights, and a little added sparkle to the usual Sunday roast.

Keep your sweet tooth sated, or seek out the perfect seasonal gift, with a selection of holiday treats. The Lindt store at Outlet Shopping at The O2 has the largest in-store offering of Lindt products in the UK, including its popular pick ‘n’ mix. Over in Greenwich Market, taste the irresistible cinnamon flavours of Hungarian Chimney Cake or delightful chocolates at Dark Sugars. Pick up the perfect stocking fillers at Mr Humbug, macarons at Amorino, or delicious homemade Jamaican rum cakes at Doreen's.

For a classic Christmas dinner experience, look no further than Greenwich’s traditional pubs. The Old Brewery within the Royal Naval College serves up a hearty menu of seasonal British ingredients year-round, but at Christmas it upgrades to a festive feast. The Cutty Sark pub can take care of all your dining desires with its indulgent sharing boards and 3-course Christmas Day menu. The riverside Trafalgar Tavern keeps the celebrations flowing with seasonal cocktails alongside its festive courses, and The Gypsy Moth is offering elegant dishes that elevate your Christmas celebrations, with mains including pork belly, loch-reared trout, and, of course, hand-carved turkey breast.

.Afternoon tea is a wonderful treat that’s the perfect way to get together with friends and family in the run up to Christmas. All through December, the Clarendon Hotel on Blackheath is hosting sparkling afternoon teas. Expect finger foods with festive fillings alongside scones served with delicious Devonshire clotted cream and strawberry jam. Book in advance for traditional afternoon tea at DoubleTree by Hilton London Greenwich and in the Undercroft Cafe at the Painted Hall. Themed film-location teas are served at the Old Royal Naval College, or drink tea under the Cutty Sark, the clipper built in 1869 that travelled the world to bring tea back to London.

Keep cosy in the cold with seasonal hot drinks this winter. Whittard of Chelsea at Outlet Shopping at The O2 sells top-quality traditional teas, coffees and hot chocolates, plus drinks-themed gifts. Let the warming aroma of roasting cocoa beans waft over you while you wait for your rich, thick hot chocolate at Dark Sugars in Greenwich Market, or grab a seriously good coffee at nearby 15Grams. Mulled wine and winter cocktails are on the menu at Cutty Sark Tavern. Sign up with Canteen on the Greenwich Peninsula for Buy One, Get One Free on festive hot chocolates and mulled wine, available until 7 December.

Looking to step away from the traditional turkey? Then we have you covered. Greenwich favourite Japanese restaurant, Sticks’n’Sushi, is bringing back its Sticks’n’Santa menu, with three dishes and two cocktails created especially for the season. Think marinated duck breast in a mustard sauce with a sweet soy dressing, salmon with trout roe and a ginger fizz cocktail.
The Southeast-Asian menu at Banana Tree features Korean BBQ chicken wings, cranberry fritters and katsu curry. The all-day two-for-one cocktails offer makes this hard to resist. Turkish flavours steal the show at Midpoint Restaurant, with a choice of à la carte dishes, such as cranberry halloumi bites, lamb shank and baklava, or a festive set menu for groups and parties.
