Explore the southern outfall of the Victorian sewer system designed by Sir Joseph Bazalgette.

About

An opportunity to have a look at the buildings and engines, to take in the exhibition and learn something of the Victorian sewer system which continues to serve the capital. The engine Prince Consort will not be in steam - it is currently being investigated for some cracks in cast ironwork near the engine.

The Crossness Engines Trust complies with the "We're Good To Go" industry standard; during your visit, you are requested to observe social distancing and wear a mask, unless you are exempt. Total number of people is currently restricted to the site during the event and tickets are limited. Access to the Beam Engine House will be managed to ensure that social distancing can be maintained.

Light refreshments will be available and the shop will offer some interesting items for sale. Families can join the learning team for a free make and take craft activity and explore the Crossness site with the children’s activity trail.
