Built in the early 17th century for the tutor to Henry, James’s eldest son and the then Prince of Wales, the stunning house is surrounded by immaculately landscaped gardens.

Inside, visitors can admire original Jacobean strapwork ceilings and fireplaces and even grab a free audio guide to learn more about the house’s long history.

Free to visit, Charlton House and Gardens stages regular exhibitions, concerts, tours, talks, events and markets throughout the year.

Their beautiful Grade I listed rooms, halls and gardens are available for meetings, events and groups, all of which can be fully catered.

Charlton House and Charlton Assembly Rooms offer striking and unique backdrops, all rich in period detail and featuring original fireplaces and intricate plasterwork ceilings, for training, receptions, presentations and board meetings.
