About

Greenwich’s Fan Museum is the only museum in the UK devoted to the history of fans and the art of fan making.

Nestled in the heart of historic Maritime Greenwich, it’s home to a diverse collection of fans from around the world, dating from the 12th century to the present day. Occupying two handsome, Heritage-listed Georgian townhouses, the Museum was first opened in 1991, since which time it has staged more than 80 exhibitions on its specialist subject.

Since opening, the Museum has entertained a diverse range of groups, including Women’s Institutes, arts societies, City Livery Companies, adult learners and international students.

The Fan Museum extends a warm welcome to organised groups of  up to 24 people. For groups that exceed this, you are recommended to contact the Museum Office to discuss your individual requirements.

For groups of 8 or more people, due to the size of the Museum, contact the Museum Office to arrange a suitable visit time.

NOTE: The concessionary and discounted rates are not applicable and entry is charged at £5.00 per head in these cases.

The museum also offers guided tours and educational activities for a wide variety of groups.
