The Royal Borough of Greenwich provides local services for residents, businesses and schools across the borough. The area has a unique identity, with over 8 miles of riverfront set against the backdrop of historic buildings and majestic parks. There are three main town centres at Eltham, Greenwich and Woolwich.

Royal Greenwich covers an area of 4,734 hectares and has a population of approximately 254,557 (2011 Census). One fifth of Royal Greenwich’s population is aged under 15, 10.3% is of retirement age and 50.4% of the local population is female.

Greenwich is in the midst of a significant renewal programme – including approximately 18,000 new homes constructed over 10 years – that will benefit all those who live, work, learn and visit here.
