Greenwich Comedy Festival 2010

3 August 2010.
There's never much to laugh about as summer turns into Autumn so it's good to see that Greenwich Comedy Festival is coming back to the Old Royal Naval College between the 6th and 12th of September. The venues will include the world famous Spiegeltent and a 1500 seater Big Top. I love the Spiegeltent, it's like going back in time to some decadent wood and mirror filled saloon, and it's a pleasantly intimate comedy venue. The festival line-up includes Bill Bailey, Arthur Smith, Ed Byrne, Reginald D Hunter, Shappi Khorsandi, Jenny Eclair and Jerry Sadowitz and there's going to be sideshows, food stalls, a selection of bars and Silent Disco. All the shows are individually priced (nothing too outrageous, you'll be pleased to know) but entrance to the grounds is free so it's worth going along for a look even if you don't get to any of the shows. The comedy festival is part of  The Greenwich Festivals  - a series of high quality events organised by Greenwich Council to celebrate the cultural vibrancy of Greenwich. Festivals run until November and will provide some of the best entertainment in the capital.
